Teddy's Child Watch
Teddy's Child Watch is a free child care service for parents and legal guardians who have appointments at David Grant Medical Center, the Dental Clinic, and the Veterans Affairs. Children six months to 12 years are allowed to come; must be up to date on all shots, including the flu shot when it is seasonally available. Parents or legal guardians must bring a copy of the most current, up to date shot record for Teddy's Watch to keep on file. Legal guardians must have a power of attorney and present it to Teddy's staff. Drop off is 15 minutes prior to the parent or legal guardian's appointment time and the maximum allotted time children are allowed to stay is 90 minutes without prior approval of the program manager.
Teddy's also requires clinic validation slips for parents or legal guardians to get signed by the clinic staff verifying the clinic and time their appointment was finished. Drop offs without a reservation are accepted on a space available basis. Since Teddy's books for 90 minutes, the last appointment we take is at 12:15 p.m. (for the parent or legal guardian's appointment to be at 12:30 p.m.), Monday through Thursday, and Friday at 11:15 a.m. (for the parent or legal guardian's appointment to be at 11:30 a.m.).
No food is permitted, but we do allow parents to bring water, milk, or juice. There is a registration packet that parents or legal guardians can pick up or fill out same day as appointment.
Teddy's Watch has a Facebook that parents or legal guardians can book appointments through, @TeddysWatchDGMC.
Teddy's Child Watch is funded by the Armed Services YMCA and we gladly take donations.
