Getting Care

Planned Closures

Labor & Delivery Unit

David Grant USAF Medical Center’s Labor and Delivery (L&D) unit will be unable to deliver babies from April 8, 2025, through at least October 1, 2025, due to a nursing shortage. Expectant mothers who go into labor during this period will be diverted to nearby hospitals for their deliveries.

What this means:

  • Deliveries: No deliveries will take place at DGMC during this closure. Nursing staff will assist in directing patients to alternative delivery locations.
  • Prenatal Care: Prenatal appointments at the Women's Health Clinic and Family Medicine Residency Clinic will continue as scheduled. Your provider will work with you to develop a delivery plan at an alternate hospital.
  • Lactation Services: Lactation support services will remain available.

We understand this closure presents a significant change. We are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients and appreciate your understanding. For questions, please contact the Women's Health Clinic at 707-423-5361/5311 or Labor and Delivery at 707-423-3619.
